Yes. Transcription is available to anyone in Hobart and across Tasmania, on the same published rates and the same turnaround as everywhere else. Files move in and out online, so where you are makes no difference to the price, the deadline or who does the work.

Mostly the Supreme Court of Tasmania and the state Magistrates Court. There is steady work too from marine science and Antarctic research programmes run from the port, and from aquaculture, tourism and state government departments. Transcription for those clients usually ends up in front of someone outside the organisation, which is why every file is checked against the source before it is sent.

Rush delivery within 2 to 24 hours is available, and the delivery time is confirmed in writing before you pay. Because orders from Hobart are handled online, nothing waits on a courier, an appointment or office hours. The quote states the delivery time as firmly as the price, because speed is what this site is for. If a deadline cannot be met you are told at quoting stage, not on the day.

The standard is 99+%, reached by doing the job twice: one person produces the file, and a second checks it before release. Local detail is where a distant supplier slips - street names in Hobart, the institutions around it, the bodies people file with across Tasmania - so those are checked against the source.

Only the people doing the work can open your material, and all of them are under NDA. A lot of what arrives from Hobart comes from the Supreme Court of Tasmania and the state Magistrates Court, where the material is sensitive, so restricted access is the default. Rush work still goes only to the assigned pair, because a shortcut on access is not one worth taking. Transfer is encrypted in both directions, and deletion on an agreed schedule can be set up where your records require it.

Word, PDF, Excel, Google Docs or plain text. Everything is returned by email in the format you asked for, which is why clients in Hobart never need to collect anything. Files come back in whichever format gets them into use fastest, with no reformatting at your end. Your house template can be applied from the first order, which is what keeps a set of documents looking like one set.

Most of it is tied to the Supreme Court of Tasmania and the state Magistrates Court. Alongside that comes material from marine science and Antarctic research programmes run from the port. Local names, street names and institution names are checked against the source, because a local name got wrong is the first thing an audience in Hobart notices. A rush job is split across several people working to one style sheet, then reconciled before delivery.

Yes. The transcription requests that come up most around Hobart are Mandarin, Nepali and Greek, and 100+ other languages are available. Every file goes to a native speaker of the language, and material that switches language partway through is kept as it was.

There is no office to visit. Upload, email or share a cloud link, and the finished transcription is returned by email, usually without anyone needing to speak to you at all unless something in the material needs a decision. Clients across Tasmania work this way, and so do clients nowhere near it.

General transcription starts at $1 per audio minute and legal transcription at $2, with volume pricing once a project passes an agreed size. The quote for transcription in Hobart is worked out from how long the recording runs, how clear the audio is and how many people are speaking. Being in Hobart changes nothing about the rate, because the same published prices apply across Tasmania and everywhere else. Send the material and the figure comes back within minutes.
